Island Brač is the bigest island in region Dalmatia in Croatia. It is located between city Split and island Hvar, and has daily and nightly ferryboat connections with the Split.
The highest peak on the island Brač and the highest peak of all dalmatian islands is Vidova gora (778 m above sea level), and near is situated airport Brač.
Island Brač with its area (394,6 km2) is the third Adriatic island and first dalmatian island regarding its size.
Lots of area is covered with cultivated fields, mainly olives groves, Mediterranean plants and vineyards.
Never forgetting the world famous Brač stone which was used to build the White House in Washington in United States.
Since it belongs to the area of Mediterranean climate with short and mild winters, and long and sunny summers, island Brač is very convenient for summer tourism.
The largest of the local beaches, Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) in Bol is reputed to be the most beautiful in the Adriatic.
